Farrington Park junior member, Josh Higgs, has won the Somerset Under-14 Championship. His gross 75 at the Isle of Wedmore Golf Club was good enough to beat off stiff competition for the coveted Somerset trophy.

Thirteen-year-old Josh, who is already a Somerset Under-14 team member, has seen his handicap slashed from sixteen to ten since the start of 2013. Wells resident, Josh, is the third Farrington junior to win the Somerset Under-14 trophy in the space of five years. Current Farrington Junior Captain, George Abbott, won two years ago and Ben Davis, five years ago.

The Farrington Duchy Course will also be in Somerset county golf news as it hosts the 2013 Somerset Under-18 Championship on Sunday, 5th May. The best of Somerset's juniors will be present for the event with Farrington Club Champion, Josh Hilleard, one of the firm favourites. Josh is on form, as the one handicapper paired up with Farrington junior and three handicapper, Liam Copp, to claim third place in the recent Somerset County Scratch Foursomes at Weston-super-Mare.
