Following the last round of the European Rally Championship in Latvia this weekend, Chris Ingram navigated by Radstock’s Ross Whittock, won the under-27 Junior category in fine style, holding off the opposition from Mares, Czech Republic, and Huttunen, Finland.
At the beginning of this two day epic, whichever one of these three drivers that won the event, would win the championship. At the end of day one, Chris and Ross were lying in second place from Huttunen, who on day two went off the road and suffered two punctures, putting him down the leader board, never to fully recover. This coveted prize carried a great bonus of participating in the main European Championship in 2018 with an R5 4WD car. To finish off this year the pairing will be out in a few weeks on the Wales Rally GB, the UK round of the World Championship.
