Farrington Park's Seniors competed in their Annual Club Championship on a very warm, but increasingly windy day. The excellent condition of the course and some difficult pin positions certainly presented a golfing challenge fit for the championship.

Farrington Park's own Terry Stacey turned out to be the clear winner, with a round of gross 75, winning by ten shots from Rob Thain (85).

The overall results were:

Division 1: 1st Terry Stacey 75-11c=64, 2nd Rob Thain 85-14c=71, 3rd Ray Cornish 89-17c=72.

Division 2: 1st Alan Skivington 91-20c=71, 2nd Bob Earney 92-20c=72, 3rd Ray Guthrie 92-20c=72.

Division 3: 1st Steve Mitchell 96-26c=70, 2nd Richard Collier 97-25c=72, 3rd Mike Henton 98-23c=75.

Five ladies played in the medal on Sunday, 6th June. Sue Stilwell won the Silver Division with 87 gross, 73 nett, and Clare Salter won the Bronze Division with 95 gross, 69 nett, enjoying a two-shot reduction in handicap to 24.

On Thursday, 10th July, 28 ladies played in the Douglas Trophy and eight played in the Coppers Cup. Both trophies are played for as individual qualifying Stablefords, with the highest points scored winning. The Douglas Trophy is open to ladies with handicaps of 35 and below, whilst the Coppers Cup is only open to ladies with a handicap of 36.

Corrina Bates won the Coppers Cup, with 35 points. Many congratulations to Corrina for her first trophy win. I'm sure that Corrina's lasting memory of the day will be the outstanding back nine on which she scored an incredible 25 points – what a finish and certainly one that was most deserving of a win! Nadine Spong was runner-up, with 31 points.

The day's CSS was 72 and there were no resultant reductions in handicap.

Min Woodward had a two-spot on the fifth hole, whilst Becky Ager, Kay Clarke and Lesley Stone all had two-spots on the fifteenth hole.
