The week started well with a match against Norwest, at Purnells, in the FCC where success on four of the rinks gave us the overall win.

Wednesdays match against Purnells was cancelled by the opposition to allow time for those at the club , who wished to pay their respects, to attend Colin Curtis’s cremation service. This was attended by a large number of Colin’s family, friends, the Fire Service and numerous members of local bowls clubs as well as our contingent, many in their Club Greys, demonstrating the respect and love Colin was held in by his community.

In our last league match of the season, away at Frome Park in the county league, demonstrated to us the areas we need to improve if we are to regain our place next season.

The coming week sees us in action at home against South Petherton in the Petherton Cup and the President vs Captain club competition on Sunday, a special event as it’s Dave Hancocks last term as President. Thank you for all your work and well done Dave.

Finally a very last reminder that there will be a Macmillian charity Tea Party at the Club House in the Recreation Ground at 3pm on Friday 9th all are welcome. AJ.Meaton
