THE 4 ball Bowmaker Stableford competition run by the Pro Shop at Mendip Golf Club, saw a win for Shaun Robinson/Andrew Robinson/Wayne Dryburgh/Omar Aziz with a total of 85 points. In 2nd place came Danny Middle/Stephen Rushton/Ped Rossiter/Andrew Stephens with 83 points and in 3rd place were Terry Carter/Paul Merrett/Justin Barow/Nigel Cheshire with 81 points.

A further Pro Shop Stableford event was played in mid week which again saw success for new member Ped Rossiter who won the event in a close competition with 38 points after count back from Simon Moody. Drew Foley came 3rd with 36 points and Brad Pike was 4th with 35 points.

The Ladies Texas Scramble event unfortunately fell foul of the awful weather on that day and the event was called off.

And finally the re-organised Seniors 3 Clubs and a Putter event took place with a reduced field with many intended competitors withdrawing because of the early heavy rain.

However, the skies cleared and 66 brave souls competed. The scores demonstrated that not everyone needs full set of clubs! Martin Myers won Div 1 with 34 with David Braithwaite 2nd with 32 after count back from Phil Brocks. Div 2 was won by Peter Walford with an excellent 39 points with Mike Tout, benefiting from his recent chipping lesson, 2nd with 36 and John Hugill was 3rd with 35. Chris Giles won Div 3 with 33 points, Charles Roberts was 2nd with 32 and Andrew Griffiths was 3rd with 31.

May I wish all members of the Mendip club and readers a great Festive Time and a Happy and Healthy New Year. The Press Report will return early in the New Year.
