On a damp, overcast day, Peasedown Athletic entertained Stockwood Green Reserves at the Recreation Ground.
Peasedown opened strongly when C. Pile rounded M. Frain and crossed to J. Rogers, whose shot was well saved by D. Marks.
Stockwood retaliated and T. Edwards crossed from the right and M. Hughes' shot lacked direction, going wide.
Back came Peasedown, with S. Newton delivering a free kick into the box which D. Marks punched clear.
M. Hughes also had a cross-shot, whistling just wide.
Peasedown attacked, with C. Walton providing a perfect pass to C. Pile, who struck a beauty into the bottom corner, giving D. Marks no chance and the score 1–0 on fifteen minutes.
Keeping up the pressure, C. Pile took a corner to S. Newton, who passed to T. Woodland and his shot brought D. Marks to his knees to save.
Then Peasedown embarked on a terrific attack, with D. Reynolds onto N. Hulford, who sent L. Litterick through and a beautiful lob over D. Marks for 2–0 on twenty minutes.
Peasedown almost increased their lead when
C. Pile passed to J. Rogers, whose cross-shot bounced off D. Marks' shoulder for a corner.
Stockwood came forward with J. Hopkins playing the ball through to M. Hughes, who shot wide. Peasedown came back and a cross was handled by S. Kemble allowing D. Reynolds to score comfortably from the spot for 3–0 on 38 minutes.
Peasedown were on top and S. Newton's free kick was headed home by L. Litterick on forty minutes.
D. Reynolds made a good pass to C. Walton, who crossed and D. Marks handled well to clear.
This was followed by N. Young putting N. Hulford in and his shot was brilliantly saved by the Stockwood goalkeeper.
Peasedown were playing good football which continued into the second half, with N. Young passing to S. Newton, who then played to C. Walton, but his shot flew wide.
L. Litterick, looking for his hat-trick, fired a fraction wide. Peasedown kept coming and S. Newton's fine pass put C. Walton into a good position, but his shot was too high.
S. Newton then played C. Pile in down the right and he pulled back to C. Walton, who converted for 5–0 on 55 minutes.
In a rare Stockwood attack, in the second half, M. Hughes fired wide. He also had another effort well-saved by C. Allard.
Peasedown came back though L. Litterick, who played S. Newton through and his shot was magnificently saved by D. Marks.
In Stockwood's next attack, T. Edwards' effort was well saved by C. Allard.
From a C. Walton corner, L. Rudge headed off the line. Another corner, this time taken by D. Reynolds, found C. Walton, whose thunderous shot grazed the top of the bar.
Peasedown rounded off proceedings when C. Pile's effort was pushed out by D. Marks into D. Reynolds' path and he slotted home for 6–0 on ninety minutes for another double this season.
