Fosseway Bowls Club held their annual charity event at the Best Western Centurion Hotel on Friday, 31st October where over 100 people enjoyed an evening of superb entertainment, with music and comedy acts headed once again by Tank Sherman.

The charity recipient this year will be the Dorothy House Hospice whose nurses gave comfort and care to our President, Richard, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

A raffle and auction was held during the interval and vast sums of money were raised by the uptake of raffle tickets and by the tenacity and comedic performance by the auctioneer, Tony Cooper.

The event organiser, Keith Ball, would like to thank all those who supported the event, the ones who supplied prizes and auction items and the volunteers who helped to make the event such a

success.

Once again, a special thanks to Sid Body, who has been swearing (in a nice way) since last year and placing a £1 coin in a jar after each expletive. This alone raised £243.

At the present time, the profit from the evening is around £1,800, but with more monies to be given, it is hoped that the final figure will exceed £2,000.

Next year, the fundraising event will be held on Friday, 30th October, with the same venue already booked. Grateful thanks to Mark and staff at the Centurion Hotel for all the help given.
