The weather was shining bright for Minstrels on Saturday and the team were in good spirits, with morale being high.
We started off with a strong first quarter and some great movement in the circle from the shooters. The first quarter ended Minstrels 14, Canons 8.
In the second quarter, the team was kept the same as they were executing well. Our defence were getting some great interceptions and constantly turning the ball over. Minstrels had maintained the lead, ending the quarter with 27 goals to Canons’ 15.
Some minor changes were made during half-time, and the third quarter was the best performance as Canons only scored two goals! SJ came into the shooting circle. The defence were marking tightly onto the circle and providing some great
movement. Charis was now playing centre and feeding some great balls into the circle.
The fourth and final quarter was the highest scoring, and Minstrels scored fifteen goals in this quarter. SJ and Lily were moving well together and strength from both showed, while our mid-court were settled and playing some great feeds into the circle.
The final result was 55 goals to Minstrels and 25 to Canons. Lily was named the Player of the Match. Thank you to the supporters that came to watch.
