While on Saturday, at home against Knowle A in the County League, we unfortunately came up against a very strong side and lost on all three rinks. Sunday, on a hot afternoon, saw us return to South Petherton, in the Petherton Cup, a friendly rivalry which has been ongoing for many years. This is a mixed triples tournament played each year over two matches of eighteen ends, home and away and in this first fixture we came out ahead winning seventy six to fifty eight.

The raw score though cannot convey the atmosphere of playing on what was a good green in friendly company, breaking for tea at nine ends and finishing with a convivial refreshment at the conclusion. A truly British experience and we look forward to welcoming them to our ground in September.

The coming week includes games against Purnells, Imperial, and the ladies playing in the Fear Cup in what can only be described as a very busy week for our women.
