The First Team were without a game last Saturday following the demise of Hereford United and travelled to Cirencester Town as The Journal went to press on Tuesday, knowing that regardless of last Saturday's result, they were in fourteenth place. Cirencester were promoted to the Southern Premier League like Paulton last season, as champions of Division One South and West. The two sides met at Winterfield Road on the opening day of the season, which Rovers won 2–1.
This Saturday (31st January), promotion-chasing Corby Town are the visitors, kick-off at 3 p.m. Managed by ex-Leicester City striker, Tommy Wright, and with a host of players with lots of Premier and Football League experience, notably, ex-Scunthorpe United midfielder, Cleveland Taylor. Taylor was very influential when 'The Steelmen' beat Rovers 4–1 on 20th October at Steel Park. This promises to be a cracking and potentially hard-fought match. Corby are top of the form table, undefeated in the last eight league games.
The Youth Team grabbed a point last Wednesday in a 2–2 draw at Bristol Manor Farm. Kane Frith and Keiron Axford were on target for Rovers. They were at home to Portishead on Monday and next Monday, 2nd February, will play Larkhall Athletic, kick-off at 7.30 p.m.
The Sunday XI face Sporting Bath FC at Box Recreation Ground this Sunday, 1st February, kick-off at 10.30 a.m.
