Second place went to Terry Carter, Norman Squire, Justin Barstow, Jim Scott, with eighty-seven points two ahead of Hugh Glandfield, Alan O’Leary, Tony Taylor, and John Patham.

The Avalon C Team, visited Cricket St Thomas, and came away with a very worthy halved match.

Wins came from Dean Lewer, Chris Butland, David Graham, John Ollerton, with Scott Butland, and Tom Black gaining a half.

They then entertained Minehead and again, the match was halved, wins this time coming from Scott Butland, Tom Black, David Graham, John Ellis, Wayne Srawley and Mark Annabelle gaining a half.

Nearest the Pin was won by John Ellis, with James Pitchell second, and Malcolm Dawkins third.

Division one of the ‘Ladies Stableford’, was won by Anita Butcher, with thirty-seven points, closely followed by Vi Hayes with thirty-six and Jo Espley with thirty-five.

Division two, went to Alison Kay with thirty-seven, Diane Stanton was second with thirty-six, and Libby Bellew was third with thirty-five.

Division three, saw an amazing forty-five points from Joan Clark, who it is fair to say is one of the older ladies in the Section. Pauline Williams was second, with thirty-nine, and Val Dixon was third, with thirty-four.

The Ladies Alliance A Team, had a fine home win over Knowle, 11-3 with wins from Aimee Sawyer, Ellen Reakes, Lynne Vowles, Fran Davies, Anita Butcher and with a half from Vi Hayes.

The annual running of the mixed event the Millington Salver, was won by Rob and Sue Needham with forty-one points, with Clive Copp ,and Pippa Brown second with thirty-nine, and Louise and Tony Scott third, with thirty-seven after a four way tie.

The Seniors have had a very busy time of it. They visited Tidworth, for the second leg of the Tidworth Trophy event, which has been running since 2008, when both clubs celebrated their Centenary. Carrying a lead from the home fixture, they managed to halve the match so retained the Trophy.

Seventy-two seniors visited Lyme Regis, for senior’s Captain’s Away Day. Lovely weather, and a course in great order led to s fabulous day.

Steve Davis was naturally delighted that everything went so well. The Individual prize went to Shaun Rich, with thirty-eight points, one ahead of John Stembridge.

The team award was won by Eric Jordan, Malcolm Dawkins, Steve Regler, and Robert Miller. Steve Regler almost holed his tee shot, on the 8th and Chris Jackson holed his second on the long 17th for an eagle.

Finally, the seniors entertained Long Ashton, and then West Wilts, winning both matches 4.5 - 3.5 and 5- 1.
