Welton Rovers Chairman, Stu Minall, is looking forward to an exciting 2015 as his First Team pushes for a promotion spot and further improvements are made to the club and ground.

He said: "The First Team are sat nicely placed in third position, with games in hand and we're hopeful that we can maintain our form into the second half of the season – I'd like to think that we'd be there or thereabouts come the end of the season in terms of promotion, but there is a lot of football to be played before then."Nick Beaverstock has done a tremendous job of keeping the squad focused every week this season.

"We've seen some great football and enjoyable games. Barnstaple look like they are the team that are going to go up as champions, but we saw them on Saturday scrape by Keynsham Town and I thought there was nothing there for us to be fearful of, albeit they are in the box position, of course.

"The Reserve Team have competed well in the new league structure and I'd like to think that they will push into the top half of the table in 2015.

"A number of the Reserve Team squad have now come through from the Under-18s set-up and we're really pleased with the contributions made by our new Under-18s management team.

"The final work to our new grandstand is now almost complete and we are thrilled with the results. Great credit must go to Dave Gilson, who has masterminded the whole project. We are still looking for a local business to sponsor the stand and anyone interested should make contact asap.

"We're now looking at the improvements that we can make to the changing rooms and hope to get started on that project later this year.

"Our crowds are going up steadily, which we are thrilled about and we are working hard with the Town Council to ensure that our clubhouse is being used by an increasing number of community groups.

"So, all in all, the hard work done in 2013 and 2014 by those people behind the scenes is now bearing fruit and we're all looking forward to an exiting 2015.

"Finally, I'd like to mention two Rovers that we lost in 2014 – Karen Goddard and Adrian Barnett. Both contributed hundreds of hours to the club over the years and they will be sorely missed. It would therefore be nice if we can finish off the 2014–15 season with some success."
