Fun was had by sixteen members of Writhlington Tennis Club at the weekend, playing mixed tennis in the spirit of the Australian Open.
In the spirit of the start of the Australian Open, everyone had a tennis pro name, and the four finalists were Konta (aka Sarah Dawe) with Fritz (Norris’s first round opponent, aka Shaafiek) versus Watson (aka Marie Craig) with Berdych (aka Ray Clarke).
Konta & Fritz came out on top. We didn’t quite have the same prize money or heat they have in Australia, but we all celebrated afterwards with a pint and chips!
