On a fast scoring ground, Winterbourne set Timsbury a challenging total to chase, having been dismissed in the last over for 228. Kieran Slade (62), Raja Arbaz Hussain (40) ,and Zak Hamid (36), led the home effort with the consistent Kev Sibley, once again Timsbury’s most successful bowler, with figures of 3-46. There was also a brace of wickets, for Sam Hoddinott (2-27), and Gary Pearcy (2-46).

In reply, the visitors made light of the target winning with more than eight overs to spare. After the early loss of Sibley Graeme Webb (60), and Greg Passingham (41), added 97 for the second wicket, the in-form Jack Williams added a rapid 46, and then Gary Pearcy (31 not out), and acting captain Jesse Bishop (20 not out), finished the job off .

It was a totally different story on Sunday, when Timsbury’s hopes of a visit to Taunton for the county finals quickly evaporated in what was probably one of their worst displays of the season. Electing to bat first Timsbury’s innings never got going with only Williams, with 40 featuring significantly in a 20 over total of 108-7.

Any hopes of pulling off victory, then depended on a strong bowling, and fielding performance, but this never materialised, and with opener Want batting throughout for an undefeated 62 the home side, and knocked off the runs with ten balls to spare.

Timsbury, 2nd, XI, made a poor start in their home game with Brislington, 3rd, XI, in the Bristol and District League Division 5, but thanks to the Rawlings brothers they were able to set a competitive total of 175. The younger of the two Will, made fifty, and James forty-six, and there were also useful contributions from Rob Clothier (27), and Adam Workman (21). The visitors reached their target, with just over an over to spare to win, by four wickets. Saain Maroof, led the chase with forty, while there were two wickets each for Seb Nix (2-27), and acting captain Dan Hill (2-30).

Timsbury, 3rd, XI, were involved in a run fest away to Brislington, 4th, XI, before losing by 79 runs in the Bristol and District League Division 13. Batting first the home side amassed an imposing 357-6, with Jamie Phillips making 154, Luke Holloway 69 not out, and Ollie Barlass 57.

Ollie Phillips took 2-23, and Laurie Jones 2-64. The visitors then made a spirited reply with Anthony Fairlie becoming the second centurion of the day, with 102 not out, Dan Nesbitt continued his good form with 65, and dad Chris Rawlings made it a notable day for the family with a knock of 42, as Timsbury finished on 278-5.
