Avon and Somerset police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Bath when a man suffered a fractured jaw.

The incident took place around 3 a.m. on Saturday, 1st July. The statement reads:

The victim and his girlfriend left the Weir Lounge Club around 3 a.m. and walked up towards Pulteney Bridge, after chatting briefly to people outside the club.

A fight broke out between a group of men near the bridge at about 4 a.m. The victim, who had been talking to the group of men earlier, was punched in the face after intervening. He fell to the floor and was then kicked whilst on the floor.

He and his girlfriend walked away from the incident, and a few minutes later two men from the group punched the victim in the face, which resulted in a fractured jaw.

The suspects are described as a mixed-heritage man, aged 20-21 years, of slim build and wearing black Chino-style trousers and a grey zip-up jacket (first assault), and a white man, 5ft 8ins tall, aged 20-21 years, of stocky build, having a quiff of brown hair (second incident).

A man who was also present during the second incident, but did not get involved, is described as a white man, aged 20-21 years old, about 5ft 6ins tall with brown hair, which had a distinctive blonde streak through the middle.

We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, particularly the man who witnessed the second incident.
