A local company looking forward to a brighter future suffered a set back on 24th February, arriving to find the office door had been rammed and the showroom ransacked.

Firenza Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms on Radstock Road, Midsomer Norton was targeted by thieves who smashed open the doors looking for valuables.

With all of the stop-start restrictions placed on opening during the pandemic, Firenza had weathered 2020 with the company looking forward to a big move in Spring.

“It was a bit of a shock, I must admit”, says business owner, Andrew Stock. “Forensics were on site for around three hours before we could get in to clear up the mess, which was the worst bit.

“They did not get away with too much, as we keep very little cash on site. It is all the hassle and inconvenience of it all - although at least while we are in lockdown we couldn’t open the showroom anyway.”

Whilst Police are still investigating, Andrew says the support and well wishes of the community have kept him and the team going.

“We wanted to say a massive thank you for all of the support and well wishes we have received - we were truly overwhelmed by the messages and comments and people sending through CCTV footage from nearby areas. The amount of people offering to come and help clear up really took us back.

“We’d also like to say a very big thank you to Buildbase for supplying the timber we used to board up the broken door –

completely free of charge.

“We feel very lucky to be a part of such a lovely,

tight-knit community.”

The break-in happened overnight in the early hours of 24th February. It is thought a 4x4 type vehicle was used in the robbery at around 12.25 am, returning at 2 am. The company safe was found in South Road, near the Sports Centre.
