On 7th February, staff at the Bath and North East Somerset Carers’ Centre were shocked and saddened to hear news that the charity’s minibus had been targeted by thieves, who not only stole all the wheels, but also a wing mirror.

One of the Young Adult Carers has set up a Just-Giving page, in an effort to raise funds to reservice the bus.

The Carers’ Centre have also written up a blog post explaining that the minibus is primarily used to take young people on trips and activities, and the theft has put in jeopardy the activities planned for half-term.

A spokesperson for the Carers’ Centre said: “This has angered me, as I am a part-time carer for my Dad, and don’t always get a break away from my caring role.

“When I do, I rely on the Centre’s transport to pick me up and drop me off each time.

“We have set a target of raising £305, but wouldn’t it just be fantastic if we could raise more than our target, to cover the cost of coaches having to be hired and to also have the bus restored?”
