Misomer Norton Station was recently the venue for a major fire exercise, with local firefighters testing their procedures.

Fire engines attended from all areas including Wells, Shepton Mallet, and a specialist environment unit from Patchway to deal with chemicals.

Graham Jackson, a spokesperson for the Somerset and Dorset Railway on Silver Street, said: “We are pleased to support the emergency services and the community, and had offered the railway as a safe training environment.”
