The Spooky Magic Company is bringing a unique performance of Strange and Gothic Magic to Victoria Hall, Radstock, on Saturday, 11th November at 7.30 p.m. with ‘Tales From the Darker Side’.

Dr Nicolas Grimoire will be taking adult audiences on a trip to the darker side, with a performance that combines psychological illusion, mind manipulation and spooky storytelling.

With the audience’s help, the doctor uncovers some unsettling stories from the past, illustrated by arcane objects of all kinds. Hear the terrifying story of this country’s most unusual murder, discover the secrets held by ancient photographs, and help summon up the spirits of those who are long dead.

This spine-chilling blend of magic and traditional storytelling is in the fine British tradition of the Hammer horror films – a tongue-in-cheek display of unnerving mind-reading, magic and story-telling which makes an excellent evening’s entertainment. If you enjoy the mind-reading mysteries of TV’s Derren Brown, then this is the perfect evening’s entertainment for you.

Because of the intense nature of some of the stories the show is not suitable for under-fourteens, nor for those of a nervous disposition.

Actor Reece Shearsmith, known for his work in ‘The League of Gentlemen’ and ‘Inside No. 9’, said: “This is exactly what you want a Gothic Magician to be – dark, mysterious and completely absorbing.”
