On Friday, 11th December, the Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions showed that they care for carers, just in time for Christmas with a £200 donation to the Carers’ Centre, Bath and North East Somerset. The donation will help support carers in the local community, that is anyone who looks after someone else who needs extra help day to day.

Janine Woodward-Grant, of the Carers’ Centre, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the support shown by the Lions. We rely on donations and sponsorship to continue our work supporting carers – like offering breaks and respite to people who otherwise might not be able to take any time for themselves.”

This donation will help fund a break for carers in the New Year, giving them some time away from caring and a chance to have a life outside of looking after someone. A carer can be anyone, of any age and the Carers’ Centre supports adults and children from age five upwards.

The Carers’ Centre is an independent Carers’ Charity and is the leading provider of support, advice, breaks from caring and influential lobbying for the 20,000 people who are carers in Bath and North East Somerset. The centre provides a wide range of free services to carers throughout the area and manages projects to actively seek out ‘hidden carers’, so that they can benefit from the help, support and services that they provide.
