Paulton Amateur Dramatic Soceity (PADS)’ latest family-friendly pantomime, Aladdin, played to three packed houses over the weekend.

Great fun was had by the au- dience and cast, with many talented young actors, led by an enthusiastic Wishy Washy, and supporting adult members.

The audience were enter- tained by an all powerful Genie, the helpful Slave of the Ring, an hilarious Dame, a beautiful princess and of course, the hero, a brave and romantic Aladdin. Girl cops, Pepsi and Cola, provided comic sketches and no plot would be complete without a baddie, Abanaza, who filled the role admirably last minute.

Musical items were much enjoyed, with notable solos by an impressive Emperor and Aladdin, culminating in a rousing singsong with the audience.

Lots of hard work was put in to the performance by a great supporting team, including the Producer, David, Director, Clare, and technical genius, Dave. Months of rehearsals led to a sparkling show with a great set and colourful costumes. Many thanks to Paulton Rovers for yet again providing a central venue.

PADS returns later in the year with a special production to celebrate their Twentieth Anniversary. Don’t miss it!
