The Carers’ Centre, based in Radstock, will this year be setting up a number of Digital Hubs, thanks to support from the TSB Local Community Fund.
A grant of £3,000 will help the charity to offer digital help and advice to unpaid carers across Bath & North East Somerset.
Janine Woodward-Grant, Senior Development Manager at the charity, said: “We have talked to carers, particularly older carers, and have found that many of them would love to do more online, such as connect with friends, shop, or get advice, but they feel unsure how to go about this.
“Our digital hubs will give them a place where they can trial digital technology and learn how it can help them.
“We are really grateful to TSB, and the support we have received from the local branch in Midsomer Norton, in helping us with this.”

The TSB Local Community Fund has been created for current and past TSB Local Charity Partners. It says it has a very simple aim – to help local organisations help more local people.
The Carers’ Centre Bath and North East Somerset was established in 1994 as an independent charity for local carers. It provides free support, advice, breaks away from caring and influential lobbying for carers in the area. With one in eight of us estimated to be a carer, this is a valuable service which supports those who give their time to others, also helping young carers, who can be as young as five-years-old.
