Bath and North East Somerset's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures are due to start over the next two weeks:
• A36, from 10am to 2pm on December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Bathampton. 2-way signals for drainage investigations.
• A36, from 9.30am to 3.30pm on December 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Monkton Combe - two-way traffic lights installed by Scottish and Southern Electricity for cabling works.
• A4, from 8pm December 11 to 6am December 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 westbound, London Road exit slip carriageway closure for surveys, diversion via Could Ashton roundabout and return.
• A4, from 8pm December 12 to 6am December 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 both directions Box Road to London Road roundabout, lane closure for surveys.
• A4, from 11pm December 19 to 5am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A46 both directions Cold Ashton roundabout to London Road roundabout carriageway closure for construction improvement/upgrade works, diversion via - A420 eastbound, A350 southbound, A4 westbound to rejoin A46 at Batheaston roundabout.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
