BATH College students and staff will abseil down the Macaulay Building at the City Centre Campus to fundraise for Dorothy House.

Places are still available to join the nearly 100 brave staff and student volunteers are set to take on the Bath City Abseil event which takes on Friday September 25, and Saturday 26 from 10am to 4pm.

All money raised will help to fund Dorothy House’s care for people living with a life-limiting illness and support their families, including children, through bereavement.

Assistant Principal at Bath College, Sam Kenny, said: “We are proud to host the Bath City Abseil again with Dorothy House, particularly as they are our Staff Charity of the Year.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity for our college community and the public to come together, step outside their comfort zones and raise vital funds for an incredible local charity.

“I am honoured to be the first participant down the wall to officially kick off the event and help encourage others to get involved.

“Dorothy House provides invaluable support to individuals and families across our region, and we are honoured to support their work.”

Challenge and events fundraiser at Dorothy House, Helen Isbell, added: “We’re so excited to be working with Bath College again on this year’s Bath City Abseil.

“It’s fantastic to see both students and staff getting involved, challenging themselves and conquering their fears, while coming together to support Dorothy House.

“Every pound raised will help fund the vital care we provide for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families across our community.

“Last year, an incredible 174 participants took part in the abseil, raising more than £32,000.

“We’d love to build on that success and make this year’s event even bigger and better. There’s still time to sign up, take on the challenge and be part of something truly special.”
