Brother Eddie Newman KOM said: “Having been elected as Provincial Grand Primo of the Frome and Warminster Province of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, it was my privilege to choose a charity to support.”
Since the beginning of April until December last year, the Buffaloes have managed to raise £4,073.79 for RICE, the Research Institute for the Care of Older People.
Mr Newman said: “I chose RICE for their research into Alzheimer’s and Dementia. I, with the help of my fellow Buffs, held BBQs, car boot sales and sold badges and toy lorries. I also held a raffle at events I attended. All monies raised were from within the Buffaloes.”
RICE needs £700,000 a year to keep going, but only receive £20,000 in funding from the NHS.
