We thought we could throw a few of you off the scent last week – and it worked for some, but not others! We were, of course, still in Welton, only moving a little further up the road at Millard’s Hill.

Well done to: Richard Robertson, Kay Harvey, Peter F. Maggs, Ivor Davis, Sheila Maggs, Winston Eyles, Simon Chard, Inchy Howard and Gavin Kerton, Paul Hancock, Karen Thayer, Gary Dando, Gilmour Jones, Elaine Bowen, Allan Curtis, Geoffrey Jones, Carolyn Phillips, Norma Attwood, Shirley Steel BEM, Jeff Parsons, Kevin Chard and Mr F. Callander. Reader, Allan Curtis, tells us: “When I was a young lad, I was often sent off with the son of my next door neighbour. We used to take the train to Welton station and run to Harveys to pick up perhaps cheese and run to catch the train home, as there was only a short time for the first train to reach Radstock and clear the line for the Bristol train.

“Harveys at Welton was the only Harveys I’ve ever known. Everything I’ve written adds up, but I’m now waiting for you to say no – we did Welton last week! This is a fascinating way to waste time in making your mind up and then going to your neighbours’ for an argument, waiting for the next issue of The Journal. Keep it up!”

If you think you can guess this week’s entry, above, email: [email protected] send us a photograph of what the scene looks like today, or send it to us via Facebook: @MNRJournal. Answer next week!
