Midsomer Norton Carnival Association has hosted its glittering awards ceremony for the results of the 2016 Andrews Midsomer Norton Illuminated Carnival.
Well over a hundred Carnivalites from across the South West once again descended on Midsomer Norton to both celebrate the carnival and to find out all the results, including the special awards which were kept under wraps until the night of the awards.
Chairman, Steve Collins, opened the awards ceremony with thanks to all those that had taken part in making the illuminated carnival a great success. He also thanked Midsomer Norton Town Council and sponsors, including the Andrews Property Group and various other groups and organisations, without whom there would not have been a carnival.
The well attended event held many surprises, with special awards going to various clubs including local club, Huckyduck CC, as well as juvenile walker, Lottie Wheeler, who this year picked up the President’s Choice Award.
This year’s event saw thousands of people enjoy the illuminated spectacular which raised a total of £5,957.11.
It costs around £30,000 to hold the annual event.
