This year, Midsomer Norton is having a new Christmas event called ‘Carols by Laser Light’, taking place this coming Friday, 2nd December. Organisers, Churches Together and the Chamber are extending a warm welcome to local residents of all ages to come along.

Beginning at 6 p.m. at Midsomer Norton Methodist Church, lit up by laser light, there will be carols and traditional nativity characters to greet everyone.

Local children have been busy making decorations for the town’s Christmas tree in the Hollies Gardens. So, at 6.45 p.m. they will process to the Hollies Garden, to the sound of the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band. There they will hang decorations before the switching on of the Christmas tree lights.

“It’s great to see so many young people getting involved in decorating the town’s Christmas tree this year. On behalf of the town, I would like to thank Churches Together and the Chamber of Commerce for all their hard work in making this event possible,” said Town Mayor, Paul Myers.

With the tree lit, everyone will return to the Methodist Church, where there will be plenty of time to browse for presents, enjoy free hot chocolate and mince pies and children will be given a Christmas gift.
