Terry and Caroline Wynne MBE, from the Paulton Hospital League of Friends Charity Shop, have this week donated a medicare multi-couch to the minor injuries unit at Paulton Hospital. This is just one of many donations over twenty years enabled by the charity shop's proceeds. The pair received an MBE for their charitable service back in 2011.
Terry and Caroline, who run the charity shop on Paulton's High Street, started fundraising for the hospital twenty years ago and, in that time, have raised £400,000 for the hospital.
Their latest donation, a medicare multi-couch to the minor injuries unit, is to be used for patient comfort whilst dressing wounds, plastering limbs and taking blood. The new couch, which is already in use at the hospital, cost around £4,800.
Terry and Caroline, along with all the volunteers at the shop, would like to thank all of their customers for their support and donations.
They said: "We are all very proud of the new premises, which has enabled us to continue the fundraising for Paulton Hospital. "Your money has bought vital equipment and has made a vast difference to hundreds of people in B&NES by saving them the time and expense of going to the RUH and other hospitals for treatment.
"We are proud to have achieved twenty years of fundraising for Paulton Hospital, campaigning against bed cuts in those early days, to what we have now – a hospital worthy of the twenty-first century.
"Keeping the hospital strong is what we are all about, so please come along and support us in any way you can."
Terry and Caroline and all their volunteers intend to keep supporting the hospital for many years to come. To help with their fundraising, please visit the Paulton Hospital Charity Shop on Paulton High Street.
