PUPILS and staff from Chew Magna Primary School visited St Andrew’s Church on Monday, November 11, to mark Remembrance Day with a short service beside the village war memorial.

The whole school gathered to reflect and pay tribute to those who served, with the oldest and youngest pupils laying a wreath at the memorial.

A Year 6 pupil played a moving rendition of the Last Post on the trumpet, followed by a respectful two-minute silence at 11am.

Chew Magna’s service was one of many events taking place across the region, with communities gathering at war memorials, churches, and cenotaphs to lay wreaths, observe two minutes’ silence, and pay tribute to those who served in conflicts past and present.
