Sunday, 14th August saw over 600 classic vehicles attend the seventh Camerton Gathering at the Camerton Village Hall.

This was the most successful ever event held by the Norton Radstock Classic Vehicle Club. Huge numbers of visitors attended to view the magnificent display of classic vehicles, one of which was a 114-year-old 1902 Oldsmobile that was driven to the field by local owner, Clive Brown, from Farmborough.

With so many different vehicles present, visitors were able to reminisce about cars from their past with many motoring stories told. There were vehicles on display that spanned the whole of the 20th century.

For the first time in the event’s history, the point was reached when the field was totally covered with classic vehicles. This was over fifty more classics than in 2015. Visitors enjoyed viewing the cars and talking to the owners about their vehicles.

Refreshments were available and with good weather, everyone commented on the relaxed atmosphere of the day.

The DJB Joinery Cup was won this year by Brian Kent with his immaculate Jaguar 420.

The Camerton Gathering is a free event sponsored and run by the NRCVC and the success of the day is due to the efforts of its members who take great pride in this now premier show.

The club has received many comments of congratulations and thanks from visitors and classic vehicle owners. Next year’s gathering is already booked for 13th August 2017.
