Members of Clutton Trefoil gathered together recently for a Garden Party to celebrate the Guild’s twentieth birthday. The sun shone and everyone enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden of Sue and Andrew for a delicious tea.
A birthday cake was later cut by founders, Hazel Bowell and Jan Merchant, who had started the Guild in 1998. Members of Clutton Trefoil meet monthly to listen to speakers or to go on trips or meals out. Last month, thirteen Ladies enjoyed a long weekend in Paignton on a Guild holiday. New members are always welcome.
Trefoil Guild is known as ‘Guiding for Adults’, and it offers personal and social opportunities for all women and men aged eighteen and over, whilst supporting both Guiding and Scouting. Here in Somerset North (WSM to Bath area), we have twelve active Trefoil groups who organise their own activities in and out of doors, and enjoy a great deal of fun and friendship in the process.
Next month, Trefoil Guild members in Somerset North are celebrating the 75th birthday of their organisation by holding a fun picnic on the beach at Sand Bay, and in the hall and field at Kewstoke from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, 14th July.
Look out for us on the beach and at Kewstoke Village Hall and come and talk to us about Trefoil – you may like to join! If you can’t make it to Kewstoke, but want to find out more, especially Clutton Trefoil, then look on our website on ways to contact us: www.trefoilguild.co.uk
