EMERGENCY services attended the scene of a serious collision which closed the A36 at the Beckington roundabout near Frome on Tuesday evening, June 24.

Police were called shortly before 5pm, following a two-car collision involving a black Peugeot and a white Hyundai.

The A36 was closed between the roundabout and Berkley Street, Standerwick, while specialist officers examined the scene and recovery of the vehicles took place. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.

Both drivers were taken to hospital. One sustained serious injuries, and their next of kin were informed.
