Fed up with the constant problem of dogs’ mess, Paulton mum of two, Hannah Howson, decided she needed to do something to tackle the growing problem.

With the support of other local mums, she has made bag dispensers, so there is no excuse for not picking up after your pet. Hannah has attached them at the entrance to the Memorial Park and at the Recreation ground.

She says: “The idea is – if you need a bag, take one; if you have a spare bag, please leave one.

“I’m pleased to report this is working well – one hundred bags have been taken in under a week, and people are leaving their spare bags in the dispensers, too! I hope to install more dispensers at locations in Paulton where the dog mess problem seems bad. Hopefully, this will help owners who have run out of the house and forgotten to grab their bags!”
