In the Church News from May 21, we inadvertently used an incorrect image online which did not match the lead church news item. We apologise for the concern this may have caused the congregations of the churches involved.
Tabor Independent Methodist Church
Mr Tim Moxham led the penultimate service at Tabor. Tim has been a frequent and well-liked preacher and it is hoped that wherever Tabor members choose to worship they may well come across him again.
The Tabor Ringers recently entertained at Pondsmead Care Home in Oakhill and Age UK Lunch Club in Midsomer Norton. It is hoped they will find a suitable rehearsal venue and be able to stay together as a group and continue entertaining at local events after Tabor closes.
The final service, a Final Service of Thanksgiving for 161 years of Worship, will be held on May 31 at 3pm, and everyone is warmly invited to attend.

St Peter’s Parish Church Newsletter
A few weeks ago we had to say goodbye to the Rev Nathanael Worsley, our curate, and his family. However, on May 11 Nathanael was inducted into his new parish as vicar of St. Michael & All Angels, Middlewich, with St. Johns, Byfield in Cheshire - both in the diocese of Chester. Despite the distance, seven members of the Waterside Benefice went to Middlewich in person.
At St Peter’s the induction service was live streamed into the church and 22 people were able to watch the service, as it happened, but without the delights of braving the M5/M6 traffic.
We all hope the relationship between Nathanael, his new parish, and the Waterside Benefice will continue.
On Saturday May 30, we are serving up coffee and cake between 10am and 12pm in the church hall; I’m told that if enough attendees stage a protest, tea will also be sourced. I think our minister is going to lead the tea rebels!
This is a parish social event, in other words you don’t have to be regular member of the congregation; just someone who likes cake and socialising - everyone is welcome. Please join us for friendship, chat and few extra calories.
Further parish social events are planned for June and August with further details closer to the time.
