Year 12 student, Tilly Higgins, was awarded Young Photographer of the Year at the Rook Lane Chapel, Frome, on Thursday, 8th December.

She was one of a record number of entrants from Frome College in this year’s competition. This year’s theme for the competition was ‘Reflection’.

Judging began at 5.45 p.m. and the exhibition opened to the public at 6.30 p.m., with the prizegiving at 7 p.m. The standards were outstanding, and members of the Rotary Club found judging very difficult.

After much deliberation, the final results were: First: Tilly Higgins in Year 12, Second: Chloe Tawse, in Year 13, Third: Ruby Hyde in Year 13. Highly Commended Awards went to Blythe Plenderleith and Jess Billet in Year 13.

Tilly will now be entered into the District Competition, where, if successful, she will go through to the National Finals. Good luck to Tilly for the next stages! Frome College has offered congratulations and thanks to everyone who entered and worked hard for such an outstanding exhibition.
