Do you have an exciting idea that £500 could make happen within the community of Radstock and Westfield?

A date has been set for Dragons’ Den 7, and the Big Local Radstock and Westfield Partnership invite you to complete the overview application form to pitch for up to £500 of Lottery money that could help your local organisation or idea.

Dragons’ Den will take place on Friday, 5th April at Prattens Social Club, Charlton Lane, Westfield, BA3 4BD. Doors open at 4 p.m. for applicants to set up and dress their display table as part of their pitch for a 4.30 p.m. start. One of the ‘Dragons’ attending this year will be Journal Editor, Becky Brooks, who will be asking questions about your idea to enhance your pitch, which will last just over a minute.

This year, Big Local will only be accepting a limited number of applications, and will only be accepting one application from each organisation/individual. There will also be a new voting system, which will be explained at the event.

The Dragons’ Den pot is designed to enable individuals and organisations to receive money to carry out projects that will benefit Radstock and Westfield communities, which includes Writhlington, Clandown, Tyning and Haydon. Previous lucky winners have been Trinity School, the Norton Radstock Amateur Boxing Club, Westfield Voices and Confessions of a Youth Theatre Company, to name a few, enabling their own specific projects that they had pitched for, as voted for by the audience.

Big Local is actively encouraging those who may be thinking of applying to get in touch with ideas, or if readers need help or support to complete their application form. The closing date is 3 p.m. on 29th March, either via email: [email protected] or by post to: Radstock & Westfield Big Local, 1 Riverside Cottages, Radstock BA3 3PS.
