Wow! We had a very quick turnaround for this issue (we had to send to press before Christmas), but we still had lots of correct answers in time for the next Mystery Photo. Thank you everyone – and a very Happy New Year to you all.
Last week’s Christmassy photograph was taken at Lower Writhlington Colliery in the snow in the early 1900s. It includes signal box, Fox Walker 0-6-OST locomotive No. 3 and private owner wagons.
Well done to: Gary Dando, Simon Chard, Val Montague, Paul Hancock, Alan and Norma Norris, Ivor Davis, Adam Wyatt, Richard Weston, Neil Gillard and Ian Beeho, who tells us his father worked in the signal box here for years.
On to this week’s photograph (right) – do you know what this is and where it was taken? If you do and would like a mention, please email: [email protected] or leave a message on: 01761 258030.
