A Midsomer Norton Residential Home is offering elderly people the chance to come and join them on Christmas Day for activities, a meal and some Christmas cheer.
Last year, over half a million older people spent Christmas Day alone. “No one should spend Christmas alone. Especially our older generation, who have already given so much”, said Sue Lewis, Manager at Beechcroft Residential Home. “Christmas should be a day to celebrate with others and share in some joy”.
People over the age of 65 are being invited to come to the home from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. This will include a traditional Christmas banquet, some activities in the afternoon and everyone who attends will receive a small gift.
“For me, the nicest thing is that it will hopefully give some elderly people, who would otherwise spend this day alone, the chance to celebrate and be in cheerful company with others of a similar generation,” adds Sue.
Places are limited, so for those interested, please contact Sue at Beechcroft on: 01761 419531.
