ST Benedict’s Catholic Primary School has marked the importance of children’s mental health by taking part in Hello Yellow, the annual campaign run by YoungMinds.

Launched in 2016, Hello Yellow has grown into a nationwide movement, with people wearing yellow to show their support for young people’s mental health.

By taking part in Hello Yellow, St Benedict’s has joined a wider movement encouraging open conversations about mental health and reminding young people that support is available. The campaign also raises vital funds for YoungMinds, helping the charity continue its work to improve mental health support for young people across the UK.

Headteacher at St Benedict's Catholic Primary School, Mrs Croker, said: “As a small school, we place great importance on building strong relationships and helping children develop the confidence to understand and express their feelings.

“Hello Yellow is a wonderful opportunity to reinforce that message and remind children that it is always OK to talk about how they feel.”

Meanwhile pupils at Paulton Junior School are celebrating a double victory by attaining their highest mark ever in Bath in Bloom, as well as securing a Gold Award.

One of just two local schools signed up to the Royal Horticultural Society’s ‘It’s Your School’ scheme, Paulton Junior School’s blooms were a hit.

RHS judge, Steve Rea, said: “We love the new garden at the front of the school, which is a big and impressive project.

“The main garden areas beside the classrooms, with your wonderful established flower bed, fruit trees and delicious seasonal fruit and vegetables are looking superb.”

Paulton B&NES councillor Liz Hardman said: “Well done to every child who planted, watered, grew, painted, designed or helped in any way and to all the staff and volunteers who supported you.

“Congratulations, Paulton Junior School on a thoroughly deserved Gold Award. You have done yourselves, your school and Paulton proud."
