FARMER, writer and social scientist Chris Smaje will launch his latest book, ‘Finding Lights in a Dark Age’, at Frome Town Hall next month.

The launch will take place on Tuesday, October 14, from 7pm to 8.30pm at Frome Town Hall and attendees can take part in a Q&A with Chris Smaje and have their books signed. Tickets are free, and wine and soft drinks will be provided by the publisher, Chelsea Green.

Following a career in sociology and anthropology at the University of Surrey and Goldsmiths College, he co-founded Vallis Veg, a small ecological farm near Frome. His work bridges academic insight and practical experience, advocating for local, low-impact food systems and community resilience.
