A RANGE of Christmas-themed events in Midsomer Norton and Radstock will offer residents seasonal music, festive markets, and family-friendly activities.

The Christmas Fayre on the High Street, Midsomer Norton, will take place on Thursday, November 27, and will feature a tree switch-on, live performances, Santa’s grotto, seasonal food and gift stalls, an art trail, and other festive attractions.

The event will run from 5pm to 7.30pm in the Hollies Garden and The Island, and will include the Christmas tree switch-on, live music, Santa’s grotto, food and gift market stalls, an art trail, and other festive attractions.

While the main switch-on will take place around the tree in the Hollies Garden, the event will also include late-night shopping and opportunities for residents to explore the High Street.

Last year, a number of High Street businesses took part, opening for the evening and offering refreshments or activities.

Radstock Town Council’s Christmas celebrations will then take place on Saturday, November 29, with the Christmas Lights Switch-On beginning at 3pm.

Guests will be welcomed by Radstock Baptist Church, with hot chocolate and mince pies available. Seasonal music will be provided by the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band, with carols led by Christians Together and children from The Boys and Girls Brigade.

The Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club will bring a Christmas float, while The Natural Theatre Company will perform as Xmas Elves. Visitors can also take part in festive activities, including a chance for photographs with the elves.

Visit the Old Print Works from 12pm to 5pm to browse local art and gifts, enjoy live music and hot drinks, and take part in the Head Dress Workshop.

Festive celebrations continue in December with the Senior Citizens’ Tea Party on Thursday, December 4, and the Children’s Christmas Party on Saturday, December 13, in partnership with Youth Connect South West.
