There’s a new band in Paulton for all lovers of that little four stringed instrument, the ukulele.

We’ve been going for three weeks at the Methodist Hall “cellar” on a Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to 8pm and are having quite a lot of fun.

Some of us have only just acquired an instrument, others have been playing longer. Some of us can do musical tricks and are members of other bands, some are learning to strum without getting our fingers stuck between the strings.

Although some of us can play a number of other instruments, others haven’t a clue what a treble clef is. But that doesn’t matter! In other words, we’re an eclectic mix of ages and abilities. But we all seem to gel fine, choosing to play at the level we can and hoping to improve as we learn.

We all sing in harmony or unison, either loudly or softly, and we already have a repertoire of 14 songs (at the time of writing) - spanning the generations and genre. By the time you read this we will probably have 50 songs under our belt.

If you think this might be something you’d like to get involved in, please contact me, Rosemary House on: 07799691170.

We’re also looking forward to performing to a public audience. So please get in touch for weddings, bar mitzvahs or funerals (or maybe just a bit of singalong fun).
