IT’S a very special night at Midsomer Norton’s Mardons Community Club as they go 'Friday Night Live' with The Thrillionaires May 1.
The one-off performance from the South Wales band is a welcome return from the band who haven’t performed at the club since 2022.
Mardons have kept in touch with the band over the years, watching them grow and seeking each opportunity to get them back, even switching their regular entertainment night from a Saturday to a Friday in order to make that happen.
The band was set up after drummer, Steve Mckrill, who spent a number of years spent living in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). The live music scene is immense and competition fierce.
He said: “When I came home and set up my own band, I took what I learned out there and applied it to us. Would we stand out in UAE? Would we please an eclectic audience and could we keep a dance floor full?”
In January 2017, he put the theory into practice and The Thrillionaires was created; a cover band that would go on to make a name for itself, as being the most professional sounding and performing band in the South Wales area.
In a relatively short time, The Thrillionaires became renowned for performing a wide range of genres with slick passion, virtuoso musicianship and amazing vocal harmonies including inspired medleys from Queen, Robbie Williams and Elton John
A spokesperson for Mardons Community Club said: “Mardons are extremely pleased to welcome these great guys back for another lively and entertaining visit, and hope to introduce them to even more potential fans, so pop along and enjoy an evening of exceptional music ... and don't forget it's on a Friday!
Entry is free to all, non members are incredibly welcome and music kicks off at 9pm.
