The unstoppable grandfather-granddaughter team of local bike riders, Chris and Jessie, have raised £1,000 over the weekend for Sport Relief.
Eleven-year-old Jessie Woodford asked her grandfather, Chris Price, if he would be up for cycling ten miles with her for Sport Relief and as he loves a challenge, he agreed!
Together the pair collected £1,000 of sponsorship money for the cause from friends and family before setting off on 19th March from Wellow Trekking Centre at midday, all dressed up in colourful wigs and tutus.
On the way, they were given £10 from a member of the public and were encouraged with cheers and claps along the route. Sarah Woodford, Jessie’s mum, said:?“The whole challenge took only an hour and a half and the only injuries were sore bums! I am so incredibly proud of them and watching the television last Friday made Jessie realise where the money was going.”
