Throughout 2023, the team at Care UK’s Rossetti House on Welshmill Lane, raised funds for Fair Frome, a local charity which aims to champion greater financial, educational, and social equality for people in Frome and surrounding areas.

Throughout the year, the team and residents took part in a sponsored walk, annual summer fete and used their annual Christmas fair to raise funds. The home raised £1,500 for Fair Frome and matching the home’s efforts, Care UK donated a further £1,000.

The team awarded Frome Fair Senior Coordinator Lenka Grimes with a cheque for £2,500.

Lenka was thrilled, she said: “This is an amazing amount that has been raised by the team, residents and all the Rossetti community. This will make a huge difference to Fair Frome as donations are low and will help us support increased demand. We will use this money to support our food bank users by purchasing fresh food to distribute alongside our food parcels.

This isn’t the first time the team at Rossetti House have rallied together to support a chosen charity. In 2022, after a team member sadly passed away, the team wanted to commemorate them and decided to support Prostate Cancer UK – raising over £1,000, to which Care UK also donated an additional £1,000.

The home plans to continue the tradition and is currently deciding which local charity to support this year.

Philip Vale, General Manager at Rossetti House, said: “I want to thank everyone who helped with fundraising efforts, from coordinating special events to those who donated funds. The amount raised surpassed all our expectations and it was fantastic to be able to present the cheque to Fair Frome.

“Here at Rossetti House, we are always looking to support good causes, especially those which are close to the hearts of team members and residents. Residents and team members alike enjoy the sense of purpose that comes with supporting those locally and building relationships with more members of the community.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you Lenka Grimes from Fair Frome for joining us and we look forward to supporting another good cause this year.”
