Members of Westfield TT, the free running club set up by John Reynolds, Westfield’s record-breaking marathon man, hopped on spin bikes last Saturday at the local Tesco store to help begin fundraising for John, who will be attempting to run 400 miles in four days in aid of Dorothy House Hospice at the beginning of May.
John will be running four one hundred mile circuits, non-stop, around Radstock, Bath, Corston, Keynsham, Bristol, Felton, Chew Stoke, East and West Harptree, Priddy, Wookey, Wells, Shepton Mallet and Oakhill, beginning from the White Post Inn, Stratton on the Fosse at 2 p.m. on Thursday, 3rd May, with a target finish time of 2 p.m. on Bank Holiday Monday, 7th May at the same location.
John is on form, with a recent 100-mile test loop seeing him two hours ahead of schedule. On each of the circuits, he aims to be in Peasedown St John at around 3 p.m., Fullers Earth Works at Odd Down at 3.55 p.m., Bath Abbey by 4.40 p.m., Keynsham High Street at 6.30 p.m., Bristol Suspension Bridge at 9.40 p.m., overnight through Bedminster, Chew Stoke, the Harptrees, Priddy and Wookey, Wells Cathedral by 7.15 a.m., Oakhill Inn by 11.50 a.m., Gurney Slade Church by 1 p.m. and back to the White Post at 2 p.m. Timings may vary!

John told The Journal this week: “I’m very nervous, but will give it everything, as it is my last multi-day run and I need to bring the record home to Somerset.”
