The station will again be welcoming visitors on the weekend of March 4th and 5th to mark the closure of the Somerset and Dorset railway line. After the success of last years’ award-winning fifty year anniversary event, it has been decided to make it an annual occasion.
The S&D Heritage Railway Trust will also be showcasing a major new collection of archived steam engine film, never seen before, on Saturday, 4th in the Town Hall at 7 p.m.
Event organiser, John Baxter, said:“Volunteer drivers and train staff at the station will be running special trains behind the resident Sentinel steam loco and the historic 08 Diesel shunting engine, so there should be plenty of rides for everyone.
“The first ride will be at 11 a.m. and the last at 3.30 p.m.”
