CELEBRATIONS have been in full swing at Bloomfield Care Home, as one of its residents reaches her 105th birthday in style.
Enid Snook was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents as she received a telegram from the King in recognition of her landmark birthday.
Relatives flew in from as far as Canada to help her celebrate her special day including her daughter Chris from Calgary and her grandson Tim from Toronto.

The birthday girl chose a relaxed day with friends and family joining her at the home and guests enjoyed a special birthday cake made by the home’s chefs baked by Andrew and decorated by Kacpar.
Enid was born and raised in Newbury and at the young age of eight years old won a scholarship for a local private school. She left school at 16 sadly due to the passing of her mother and looked after her father and brother for a few years.
At age 18 Enid applied to the Foreign Service and joined the Auxiliary Training Service and worked Cairo, Venice and Vienna. At 22 she met her husband and they lived in many countries on the African continent bringing up two daughters.
She returned to the UK, embracing a retired life she never stopped being active and still travelled even at the age of 80 to visit family.

Enid was delighted to discover technology and emailing to keep in contact with family and friends, she was still sending emails at 103 and now lives at Bloomfield, where she is enjoying a new chapter of her life.
General manager of Bloomfield Care Home Jing Wen added: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman as she reaches this amazing milestone. Enid is such a popular resident who always warm and welcoming, and we look forward to spending more time with her.”
