CAN you guess where this week’s Mystery Photograph was taken?
Each week, the Journal invites readers to identify a historic location from days gone by.
Last week’s photo didn’t have our readers stumped at all. Most guesses confirmed the location as Kilmersdon Hill.
Chelsea Horler wrote: “The photograph this week is Kilmersdon. The house on the left hand side is where my dad lives, usually lots of flags outside especially for big occasions like the World Cup.”
A very excited Trisha Jordan from Holcombe wrote in to tell us: “For the first time in ages I think I know where the photograph was taken! I expect you will have lots of correct answers this week.

“It is on the B3139 coming out of Kilmersdon towards Radstock at the bottom of Kilmersdon Hill with the turn off to Silver Street left and Church Street right.” She added: “It doesn't look a lot different today.”
You’re quite right Trisha. We had so many correct entries, we can’t fit them all in.
Delphine Watts said: “Kilmersdon village at the bottom of the hill from Charlton,” while Dave Stone said: “This weeks mystery photograph is Kilmersdon, the church is behind you, and the view is looking out of the village up the hill.”
On Facebook Catherine Josham said: “Bottom of the hill in Kilmersdon. The house on the left always has Chelsea FC flags outside these days.” We think that has to be Chelsea’s Dad’s house!
Jenny Jones said: “It’s the bottom of Kilmersdon Hill. My house [is] left on the corner the old police house.”
Chris Tibury added: “Tried to ride up it years ago but no lol.”
Thanks to everyone for their guesses. This week’s photograph is from Peter Strawbridge, thank you to him.
